Mono Eating/Diet
To begin, let's clarify what a mono diet is.
DAY 3/4
So rough. I want to give up but I know its the detox talking.
I hate bananas at the moment. Incorporated potatoes. Beginning to hate those, too.
Added salt and pepper on day 4.
DAY 5
Not too bad! Did a few hours of yoga so I needed to intake more calories (in the form of plain potatoes...cry)
Splurged and ate vegan ice cream to celebrate my mom. **Frankie & Jos is heavenly**
But my stomach killed on the way home. Thought I was going to barf.
Back to potatoes.
DAY 6
Potatoes. Not that hard to stick to it this morning.
At night, however, I caved and ate some squash and ground turkey. Something began to hurt! If it wasn't my gallbladder (I suspect it was) then something got kinked right over there because I was back to a fitful night.
**Sticking to potatoes.
****Don't watch food shows or cooking videos! It's too sad.
DAY 7
Back to bananas. Also ate an apple to spice it up and slowly incorporate some good stuff back in.
Really gotta stick to plant foods.
But after the painful moments, I'm okay with potatoes and bananas! They don't hurt!
Because I'm no eating any oil, I can feel my skin is drier and have an itchy scalp/dandruff..
No, it's not to cure mono, the "kissing disease".
No, I'm not doing this to lose weight (although I hear it's an added benefit).
No, you won't die from just eating one food for a little bit.
Yes, I really will be eating one food for some time to test it out. (The goal is a week. We will see).
So it all started when I was talking to my sister about those "banana diets" and "potato diets" that people do to lose weight. She did it once and apparently it worked although she hated it. We laughed. Conversation over.
The next day, my mom opens up her Medical Medium book and was like, "hey, for people with really sensitive stomach problems and digestive issues, this guy recommends mono eating for a little time to build up your stomach's defense system."
I don't think anything is a coincidence so I decided to give it a shot. The odds of it popping up multiple times that week? Okay.
I mean, I literally have nothing to lose (but some of my winter girth) because I've been dealing with digestion issues for almost a year now.
So... Here it goes!
He says you can drink celery juice (my lifeline) and eat one food. He did pears as a child when he was sick; also recommended potatoes (not sweet, unfortunately), or bananas. Pretty much a fruit or veggie, I take it.
Woke up, went for a run. Drank about 14oz celery juice. Ate 7 bananas so far (its 2:30pm).
Feeling like I am detoxing. Aches, bad headache, fatigue. But I'm doing okay! Gallbladder + Liver don't feel irritated.
